February/March 2009
As we go into February we move on West towards Portugal. We first stop at El Rocio which we nickname cowboy town. This comes from the upper class Spanish that congregate at weekends to ride their horses & pose in their horses & posh gear.
This town is very different with no roads other than dirt/sand covered roads that can get very wet when it rains. It also has an amazing church to which the Spanish conduct pilgrimages to.
The weather has had a turn for the worst, but not as cold as home. With heavy rain we have been confined to the van but the forecast is set improve. We met 2 friends from last year to exchange our experiences of our travels. One of the photos are us parked together.
Did manage a few trips out as here where we found this walled town not far away.
We then moved on to Portugal close to the town of Tavira on a new site Ria Formosa, this being the name of the water between the shore and an island just offshore. The small town of Cabanas is close with a few small shops & bars & many a happy hour spent sitting in the sun having lunch & chatting to friends.
